The Marine Industry Association of South Africa was established as a nationally inclusive, representative association to unite the entire boating industry, from boatbuilders and their suppliers to retailers, importers, brokers, surveyors, yacht clubs, fishing associations, to name but a few. MIASA is open to all companies, will span across all subsectors, and cover the entire boating value chain, from design to manufacture, to sale, to mooring, to boating activities!
Objectives
TO BE FULLY REPRESENTATIVE OF THE BOATING SECTOR:
- It is the primary objective of MIA SA to be fully representative of the boating sector, predominantly leisure, and to strive to represent that sector in a transparent and open way in all tiers and forums, within the public and private sectors.
- It is also our objective to be acknowledged by government as the industry voice and to act as the ultimate authority on the subject/ sector.
TO BE RELEVANT TO OUR MEMBERS AND THE BOATING INDUSTRY AT LARGE:
- It is our objective to have a knowledgeable staff base, with additional information channels available to us, to ensure that MIA SA acts as the industry information hub. It is also imperative that we provide relevant services to our members, as indicated by them, and ensure that we are closely linked to industry, continually assessing our services and impact to deliver on what the industry needs.
TO ASSIST IN IDENTIFYING AND DEVELOPING A MARKET FOR OUR PRODUCTS:

- To brand South African products, especially catamarans
