The US Senate Finance Committee unanimously approved a trade bill including:
Retroactive renewal of the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program, through to December 2017.
Ten-year renewal of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), which is currently scheduled to expire on September 30, 2015, through to September 2025.

REMINDER: MIASA BUILDERS PLATE
The Builders Plate is intended to increase consumer confidence in South African built boats by encouraging high standards of construction in the local boat industry.
The Builders Plate is a declaration of conformity to a technical build specification that is adjudicated and approved by the MIASA Technical Committee.
Build details are submitted to MIASA for each model of boat by the boat builder along with a copy of the warranty, trial and test certificates and the SAMSA Buoyancy Certificate.

This year six students have registered for the Westlawn Yacht Design correspondence course from the USA. Five of these students are graduates of the Boat Building Academy in Cape Town and MIASA believes that this investment in boat design skills will ensure the long term sustainability of the industry. MIASA will be facilitating study groups with support from local naval architects to ensure all six students successfully complete the 6 month course and go on to complete the full Yacht Design course. …
